LEED™ Construction Waste Management

LEED™ Construction Waste Management

We are the "LEEDer" in construction waste recycling and experienced with LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) recycling projects and the compliance per the U.S. Green Building Council. Our team will help develop a construction and demolition recycling program that conforms to LEED™ requirements.

Construction Waste Management Plan

Materials: Masonry, Wood, Metal, Cardboard/Paper, Gypsum, Plastics

Masonry: Includes brick, block and asphalt
Wood: Scrap lumber or cut off pieces of non-stained, painted or treated wood
Metal: Banding, stud trim, ductwork, piping, rebar, wiring, cabling or any ferrous or non-ferrous metals
Cardboard/Paper: Corrugated and non-corrugated cartons/packaging, office paper (white or colored) can be co-mingled
Gypsum:  Cut-off pieces or scrap dunnage; must be kept clean and dry and must not be mixed with other waste
Plastics: Packing materials, clean hard plastic containers, trim or piping
Carpet and ceiling tile should be recycled back through the manufacturer.

How to Implement a LEED™ Plan:

  • Designate a Waste Management Coordinator.
  • Containers should be marked for each designated material.
  • Containers containing mixed C&D will be processed and graded for recycle content.
  • All workers, subcontractors and suppliers should be trained on proper waste management and the goals of the project.

I am long overdue in thanking you for the outstanding job that you do recycling C&D materials on my project sites. Whether it’s on a Yale project, a State of Connecticut project, military projects, and commercial projects, your C&D recycling has been outstanding. Only outdone by the accuracy of the reporting from your office, which, in addition to being accurate to the pound, is always delivered on the first of the following month. No other recycler that I have ever dealt with anywhere, has their business operating so efficiently as to have their reporting available at the actual close of the month. This is especially important to my government contractors who must receive their monthly LEED reports promptly in order to submit for their monthly reimbursement, which, in turn, benefits us all.

Thanks Again!

As mentioned when we met, I must compliment the driver that delivered the roll-off today. The young man was very courteous, as well as patient. He made sure the can was placed exactly where we wanted it and demonstrated how the cover opened. It isn’t often that I have the opportunity to interact with your drivers. Today was a pleasant experience and will be a lasting impression of your company. Please thank your driver for me.
