All American Waste will be the new refuse & recycling company for Windsor Locks, CT beginning in January 2015. All services and pickup days will remain the same. Refuse and Recycling Service

Please be sure to have your Refuse & Recycling carts out to the curb by 6:00 AM when the collection starts.

Refuse is collected every week and Recycling is collected every other week. The Recycling schedule is available above and acceptable materials are included on the bottom of this page.

Please be sure to leave two feet between the carts and away from mailboxes or light posts.

Bulky Collection

Bulky items are collected every week on Thursday. To qualify for collection, residents must call All American Waste at 860-289-7850 to make an appointment for collection before NOON the Wednesday before the pick up.

Mattress Collection

To qualify for mattress collection, residents need to first call Windsor Locks Public Works department at 860-627-1405 to arrange collection. All American Waste cannot pick up any mattress unless first approved by the Town.

Scrap Metal & White Goods Collection

Scrap metal collection pickup will take place the fourth Fridayof every month. To qualify for pickup, residents must first call All American Waste at 860-289-7850 for an appointment by NOON on the Thursday before the pick up. Any white goods that contain FREON (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers etc.), will need to be called into the Windsor Locks Public Works Department at 860-627-1405 to arrange payment for Freon removal from the appliance. All American Waste cannot take any appliance containing Freon unless authorized by the town.

Yard Waste Collection

Starting mid-April, every Tuesday until mid-October All American Waste will collect yard waste that is in a bio-degradable paper bag. Small quantities of brush three feet long maximum and bundled will also be collected.

Leaf Collection

Leaf collection will be in the fall for 7 weeks on Tuesdays. All leaves need to be placed in a bio-degradable paper bag for collection.

  • No Foam Egg Cartons
  • No Scrap Metal
  • No Recyclables Containing Food
  • No Blank Plastic items
  • No Propane Tanks
  • No Ice Cream Cartons
  • No CD's or DVD's
  • No Pizza Boxes

  • Paper/Paperboard i.e. Cereal/Shoe Boxes
  • Milk & Juice Cartons, Aseptic Packaging
